Description

On the front, a stanza from Abolitionist John Greenleaf Whittier’s poem encircles the coin: “The clustered spires of Frederick stand, green-walled by the hills of Maryland,” inspiring Frederick’s nickname, The Clustered Spires.

Whittier’s name is framed by white oak leaves, from the Maryland state tree.

The spires from the city seal point to an Ingress logo, joined by a key inscribed “Key City,” referencing Frederick’s ties to Francis Scott Key.

A corded rope encircles the coin, echoing Frederick County’s crest.

The back features the Ingress Mission Day and SpecOps medal, flanked by Resistance and Enlightened glyphs.

Six snowflakes and flames, symbolizing the Fire In Ice festival, are crafted from Ingress XM elements.
